Our rapid expansion inside and outside Germany stems partly from having suitable back-up on the logistics front: over 65,000 square metres of warehousing space, with 63,000 individual pallet spaces available for short-term stock turnover.

Our goods are shipped from overseas to Rotterdam, Antwerp, Hamburg or Bremerhaven, arriving mainly by sea container. Using inland waterways and/or the railway, the containers are forwarded to our container terminal in Bönen, Westphalia, and are then transferred by HGV to our central warehouse in the same town.

The distribution of goods to the individual branches is coordinated exclusively from this central warehouse. This is done using a two-tier system: first, the goods are commissioned and prepared for loading; then, on a day-by-day basis, up to 120 HGVs transport them to the various KiK branches throughout Europe.

Saving time and money through efficient logistics

Logistics play a vital role in the discount sector: keeping our stock turnover fast and efficient is how we make sure all our products are available to the various branches at short notice. This puts us in a position to pass on the resulting savings directly to our customers.

KiK needs carriers

The optimized distribution of goods is something we can only achieve through collaboration. Which is why we’re constantly on the lookout for efficient partners who can help us keep our branches well supplied. Goods deliveries on both a national and an international level are all coordinated via our central warehouse in Bönen.
Our requirements:

  • HGV with tail lift for delivery to branches
  • Daily collections in Bönen
  • The shipping unit used is almost exclusively Euro pallets, carrying around 250 kg each
